Who we are

EGIS (Energy Generation and Intelligent Solutions) Limited, RC 9740057, of 1 Christopher Ighiba Street, Lugbe, Abuja FCT, is the data controller for the information described in this policy.

The law we work under

We process personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. clause 12.2

What we collect

When you use this website

• System design requests. When you use the EGIS Genesis designer and ask us to send your design, we record the appliances and usage you entered, along with your name, phone number and email address so we can reach you.
• Enquiries. When you use a contact form, we record your name, phone number, email address and your message.
• Accounts. If you create an account, we record your name, email address, phone number and a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store your password itself.
• Session cookies. Signing in sets a strictly-necessary session cookie so you stay signed in. It is HTTP-only and same-site, and it is not used for advertising.
• Server logs. Our servers record ordinary request information, including IP address and browser type, to keep the service running and secure.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on this website.

When we design, install or monitor a system

• Energy measurement. Where we measure a large site (a compound, estate, factory, mall or plaza), an energy logger on your main distribution board records energy use, peak demand, phase balance, voltage quality and hours of supply for 3 to 4 days. A home or a shop is sized from its appliance list and is not measured.
• System data. Where a monitoring device is fitted, it reports how the system is performing — generation, storage, consumption, faults and alerts.
• Project records. The premises, the survey, the design, the documents issued to you, and the correspondence about your project.

Why we use it

To measure, design, verify, monitor and maintain your system; to handle warranty claims; and, in anonymised form, to improve our engineering. clause 12.1

Website enquiries and design requests are used to respond to you and to carry out the work you have asked about.

Who we share it with

Your data is never sold. It is shared only: clause 12.2

• with you;
• with service providers who are bound by confidentiality;
• with manufacturers, for warranty claims; or
• where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Situation	What happens
You have a monitoring or care subscription	Collection continues for the term of the plan.
After handover, with no subscription	The monitoring device is removed and collection stops. Records are kept for 24 months for warranty and legal purposes, then deleted or anonymised. clause 12.3
You enquired but did not proceed	We keep your enquiry so we can answer follow-up questions, and remove it on request.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to:

• give you a copy of the data we hold for your premises; clause 12.3
• correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete data we no longer need to keep;
• stop using your data for a purpose you have withdrawn consent for; and
• explain how a decision about your system was reached.

Write to the address below and we will respond. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Consents you give separately

Where your project pack includes a consents schedule, you record your choices there — for notices by email, for the use of system data, for photographs and publicity (optional), and for contact by telephone, SMS and WhatsApp for service rather than marketing. Each of those consents can be withdrawn in writing.

Security

Access to your data is restricted to the people who need it for your project. Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes, sessions use HTTP-only same-site cookies, and access to our systems is controlled by role. Monitoring devices sign the readings they send, so tampered data is rejected.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you.
